tremough innovation centre samantha veall events assistant tremough innovation centre samantha veall events assistant tremough innovation centre originally from the midlands, sam came to cornwall just over 3 years ago. initially for a summer job, sam fell in love with the life style and the sea and transferred to falmouth university from coventry uni. sam is now currently in my final year studying creative events management and has enjoyed her course as it has opened many doors – including some back stage ones whilst working as an artist liaison. she can usually be found in one of the local ale pubs or in a crusty vintage shop in town, has a fascination for granny chic and far too many vintage handbags! sam loves a challenge and enjoys pushing her body to the extreme whether it’s running a marathon or being thrown around in the sea but also likes to unwind with a cheeky bottle of malbec or two either with friends or alone dancing around her kitchen! she’s a creative soul who enjoys chucking some paint around on a canvas or getting her hands dirty with a chunk of charcoal. back to the team maria gounaridou administrative assistant tremough innovation centre a highly motivated and driven business studies graduate from university of plymouth. mainly focused on marketing management and client satisfaction. an excellent communicator with an emphasis on creating an environment of positive and forward thinking ideas driven by business needs, sales targets and innovative marketing solutions back to the team keiley nokes events assistant health & wellbeing innovation centre born and bred in tamworth, staffs., keiley moved to cornwall in september 2013 to enjoy pasties & coastal walks. she joined the cornwall innovation team in july 2017 in the role of centre events assistant for the health and wellbeing centre. keiley has had a complete change in career. originally an activity instructor/group leader for pgl - after moving down to cornwall, keiley gained experience in the catering sector as a barista and baker. after these roles, keiley took the time to think about her next career move and found herself with a real enthusiasm for the events sector. this lead her to this position which she is enjoying immensely. keiley keeps herself busy in her spare time. she enjoys seeing friends to drink tea (not alcohol!) and long walks on the beach (with her boyfriend and nelson the dog). keiley also loves shopping for bargains in charity shops, car boots and vintage fairs, renovating old furniture and sewing (anything from upholstery to clothes). back to the team sarah roy centre administrator health & wellbeing innovation centre originally from sw london, sarah’s love of cornwall began when she attended falmouth university to study broadcasting. after her degree, sarah worked in the event and property industries in london followed by a period travelling around asia. being a true country girl at heart and the call of the ocean, combined with the expense of london living, proved strong and she moved back to cornwall in december 2016 since moving down, sarah has become a keen paddle boarder along with her other interests of coastal walking, cliff jumping, festivals, local gigs and travelling. sarah appreciates the efforts that cornwall is going to to support start-ups/small businesses and drive business. she joined hwic as she wanted to be a part of these businesses journeys and witness their growth first hand. sarah is a clean freak and, if it’s in the office and not tied/stapled down, she will bin it. back to the team sharna devine-forbes operations manager cornwall innovation sharna can’t remember the last time she dreamt of anything other than work, spreadsheets and the new innovation centres’ shared drive!! sharna’s remit is pretty broad, managing the day to day operational delivery and continuous development of the services delivered through the cornish innovation centres. sharna has a to do list as long as her arm but enjoys every minute of it as she likes lists – a lot. she drinks wine on good days and mead or port on all others. she enjoys eating all foods, just not cooking them, in fact she’d go as far as to say she’s allergic to kitchens. she aspires to be a sporty/exercise addict but is building up to it slowly by watching keep fit dvds from her comfy sofa… wine in hand. in her spare time, (ha-ha, what spare time?), she has energetic kids and so plays the doting swim coach/rugby mom type! away from the office, sharna loves spending time with her family, is currently busy renovating her house and likes to support the local economy by paying local gym memberships but not attending. loving life! back to the team mark lawther business development manager cornwall innovation mark joined the cornwall innovation centres as business development manager in the spring of 2017. originally from north london, mark moved to cornwall with his family in 2012 following stints in eastern europe and airlines – mark’s former customers include american express, mcdonald’s, ernst and young and johnson and johnson. mark is responsible for bringing new clients into the centres, maintaining a strong product offering to ensure we remain focussed on business incubation and overseeing the meetings/events part of the business. a plane fanatic who is ‘at his happiest with a jack daniel’s at 38,000 feet’, mark loves the various excellent real ales that cornwall produces, is partial to wine (primarily new world), other whiskies and can usually be found at the side of a rugby pitch with his sons at weekends. he realises he needs to make better use of his golf club membership. back to the team matt harrington centres manager cornwall innovation matt has maintained strong links with cornwall
